A clean green target

renewable energy generation

New Zealand aims to achieve 100% renewable electricity by 2030 and net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. Meeting these targets will require a significant increase in electricity supply, estimated to be around 70% by 2050, to support the electrification of the New Zealand economy. This translates to a need for approximately 400-500MW of new generation capacity every year until 2050, a rate of development unprecedented in the country's history.

This transition presents both opportunities and challenges in the electricity industry. To decarbonize the wider economy, electrification of heating and transportation is necessary, rapid development of new renewable electricity generation is crucial to meet New Zealand's transformation goals and shift the needle on climate change.

Sustainable Energy Projects

Harnessing New Zealand's Solar Potential

In the spirit of whanaungatanga, or kinship, we invite you on a journey. Together, we plan to harness the sun's boundless energy. Moreover, our partnership with globally respected solar developer, Regener8 Power, embodies our shared dreams of sustainability and prosperity for all lands.

  • Long-Term Income Stability: Solar creates stable, long-term income generated through leases with landowners. This landowner income is derived from the utilization of their land for solar energy generation, creating a consistent and sustainable revenue stream.
  • Ethical and Sustainable Processes: For land owners looking to make a positive impact, solar farms offer an ethical developement option that aligns with values of sustainability, responsible land use, and commitment to combating climate change.

Why develop Solar Farms with Us?

A Philosophy Grounded in Expertise and Tikanga

Solar Farming has huge potential for New Zealand's landowners if executed correctly. Guided by the wisdom of our ancestors and the expertise of our team, we navigate the special relationship between land and people through manaakitanga care and respect.

  • Experienced Global Partnership: Tūmanako Rānui collaborates with Regener8 Power to develop solar farms in New Zealand. Together we will accelerate the national supply of renewable, low-carbon energy generation.
  • Incorporating Tikanga Māori: Our Tāmata Hāuha team of Māori land advisors ensure decisions about land use, especially for solar farm development, follow tikanga Māori, aiming for outcomes beneficial to whānau, iwi, and the wider community.
  • Cultural and Story Heritage: Drawing inspiration from the legend of Māui, we bring to life the values of stewardship and innovation with modern solar technology for the benefit of future generations.
